PTE Test Format:

Part Time Description
Part 1: Speaking & writing 54–67 minutes This part of the test has 7 types of questions. Speaking and writing skills will be tested. The English used will be such that you might hear in an academic environment.
Part 2: Reading 29–30 minutes This part of the test has 5 types of questions. Your ability to read academic English will be tested. One item type is for the assessment of both reading and writing skills.
Part 3: Listening 30–43 minutes This part of the test has 8 types of questions. They test your listening skills via a series of audio and video clips.

FAQ’S

What are the two (2) versions of the IELTS test?


  • The 2 versions are IELTS Academic and IELTS General. IELTS Academic is to test whether your skills in the English language meet international academic proficiency.

  • IELTS General is to test whether you have adequate language skills to communicate in the workplace and in social situations.

Who accepts PTE General?


If you plan to study in the US, UK, Canada, or Australia, you should take the PTE Academic test. New Zealand and Australia recognize the results of this test for work and immigration visas.

In contrast, PTE General is mainly taken by English language learners to measure their language skills, track progress, and determine their weaknesses. Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Switzerland, Greece, Spain, Poland and other countries accept PTE General for higher education and employment purposes.
